Pünktlich am 13.09.00 um 12:00 Uhr startete der Turnierleiter Jörgen
Sandman das Playermeeting. Er begrüßte dazu 103 Spieler aus 20 Nationen. In Anbetracht
der Tatsache das doch einige Spieler wegen der etwas ungünstigen Reiseverbindungen den
Weg  nach  Kaunus  gefunden hatten,  ist ein großer  Erfolg  und  spricht auch für die
Beliebtheit  der  Euro Tour bei  den  Spielern.  Diese  Beliebtheit  ist  auch bei den
Organisatoren  festzustellen,  die  sich  angagiert haben.  Dies trifft  besonders für
Organisatoren in Litauen zu.  Die Erstauslosung  ergab keine Überraschungen,  was sich
sicherlich im Laufe des Turniers ändern wird. Dies erwarten nicht nur die Organisatoren,
sondern auch  die zahlreichen  Zuschauer die aus der dem Turnierort  gegenüberliegenden
Universität kommen. Der angelaufene Ticketverkauf bestätigt das am Samstag dem Finaltag
mit mindestens 500 Zuschauer zu rechnen ist.
Das Finale wird in einer Disco die dem Billardclub angeschlossen ist, ausgetragen.

According to plan, on Wednesday, September 13, at Noon, the Tournament Director Jorgen
Sandman started the Player's Meeting. He welcomed 103 athletes representing 20 nations.
Bearing in  mind that  quite a  few of  the athletes  had a number of borders to cross
before  reaching Lithuania and Kaunas, is already a big success in itself and for sure
underlines the great popularity that the Euro-Tour enjoys amongst them. This popularity
is also to be seen in the work of the organizers, and perhaps even more so in Lithuania
and for this event,  than otherwise.  The draw prior to the first round did not provide
with any major upsets,  something that  surely  will  change as the event goes on.  The
organizers,  but also the numerous spectators,  that most of them  are coming  from the
university just across the street, do all of them expect this. The sales of tickets for
the final matches on Saturday already shows that some 500 spectators are to be expected.
The final match will be played in the Disco that is located in the same facility where
also the Billiard Room is to be found.
