Sandor
is the best in Slovakia 80 players from Poland, Hungary, Czech Rep., Slovakia and Yugoslavia took part in seconde tournament “Best of the East” In days 29-30 August in Komarno. All
matches took place in clubs “Golden West”and “Saturnus”. The
sponsors were: Longoni, Simonis and Aramith. The
first tournament “Best of the East” was in Prague in May. The
winners became : 1) Krzysztof Gastman (PL), 2) Radoslaw Babica (pl.), 3)
Fang Hai Jiang (CZ) and 4) Michał Lichodziejewski (PL). Sandor Tot,
at present a European champion
placed on 5.position. At the time lost in quaterfinal with Babica
8:9. In Komarno he took his revenge. In semi final won with Babica 11:10
and then
won with Robert Zachar 11:8. Earlier Zachar 11:8 defeated of good player
from Hungary Vilmos Foldes. In a match for third place Foldes was
playing with Babica and after good game he won 11:6. K.
Gastman, a leader after first tournament didn't defence his position. He
lost with M.Lichodziejewski 6:9 and was 17th Before
the last tournament the Best of the East 2002, which will be in Poland
in days 3-5 October in the ranking lead the field : |
