ANTALYA HOSTS MASSIVE POOL FESTIVAL TRIUMPH

20th March

FOLLOWING ON FROM the recent hugely successful stagings of the Predator European Pool Championships and the Predator Turkish Open, there was immense satisfaction from both the event production company, the International Billiards Promotion Foundation and the tournaments’ host partner, the Turkish Billiard Federation.

Comprising 15 days of tournament pool in total, the European Championships ran from 28th February up to 10th March and comprised 12 separate tournaments across four disciplines of pool. The Euro Tour men’s and women’s events ran from 12th to 15th March.

The Turkish billiards bonanza threw up some eye-popping numbers; the total matches played across both European Championships and the Euro Tour was 1,643. The total racks completed was 18,276 and the total number of balls pocketed was a mathematically estimated 196,121!

Commented IBPF President David Morris said, “I am extremely pleased with the outcome of our events in Türkiye, where the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. When selecting locations and partners, IBPF places great importance on working with organisations that demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and commitment to promoting our events.”

In Antalya, the host association was the Turkish Billiard Federation who themselves were delighted with the mega-pool spectacular. The Organising Director of the TBF, Mustafa Nesimi Telli, said, “It was a great experience for us as a host country and as a federation and it was a real pleasure to host everyone here, in Turkey, in Antalya.

“We saw many great players here and so many players from different countries and it’s really good to see that in our country so being part of it is made us very happy. Pool is popular in Turkey especially for the young generation and if we organise such great events in Turkey, it will be good for us.

“Turkey is mostly a carom country but pool is also developing especially for the young. So, to organise such events in Turkey can only be good for pool and I hope for the future that we will have good co-operation with IPBF.”

Morris continued, “In this instance, the Turkish Billiard Federation has exceeded expectations, delivering every aspect of the event to the highest standard. Their dedication, combined with the careful preparation and the strategic venue selection by IBPF, ensures that the EPBF can focus

solely on the sporting side of the competition.

“This approach significantly reduces the operational burden on EPBF, allowing them to simply arrive and perform their sporting matters. We are delighted to have such a strong partnership with the Turkish Billiard Federation and look forward to building on this successful cooperation in the future.”
