Predator Women’s Tallinn Open - Filler Seals ET Win No.2

THE FILLER NAME was once again on a Euro Tour trophies as this time it was Pia who was victorious to take the PREDATOR Women’s Tallinn Open, outlasting Ina Kaplan 7-5 in an absorbing final at the Kalevi Sports Hall. It was Filler’s second Predator Women’s Euro Tour title, following her win in Slovenia in October 2022, and she came through one of the biggest fields assembled on the Tour in recent times.

It’s Maciol over Vogel in Tallinn

DANIEL MACIOL IS the 2024 DYNAMIC BILLARD Tallinn Open champion as he edged out 16-year-old Felix Vogel by 9-7 in an exciting finale to a terrific season-opener on the Euro Tour. Germany’s Vogel became the youngest-ever finalist in the long and storied history of the Tour, managing to break Wiktor Zielinski’s record which had stood since December 2017.

Final 16 Assembled in Tallinn

A FULL DAY of action in Estonia saw the 2024 DYNAMIC BILLARD Tallinn Open reduce down to the final 16 players at the Kalevi Sports Hall. Mark Magi is the last Estonian player left in the event from a starting line of 23 and he coasted into the last 16 with an impressive 36-minute 9-1 thumping of defending champion Mohammad Soufi of Syria.

Day One Completes in Dynamic Billard Tallinn Open

THE 2024 DYNAMIC Billard Euro Tour got underway at the Kalevi Sports Hall as 161 players gathered to contest the Tallinn Open. There were three full rounds of play as well a number of matches in the Winners’ Round 2 as play completed around 10.40 in the evening.

Kozoom Returns for 2024 EPBF Season

THE EUROPEAN POCKET Billiard Federation is delighted to announce a resumption of their long-standing relationship with Kozoom as it looks ahead to its events over the 2024 season and beyond. After an absence of a year in which the EPBF used different platforms and providers, the French cue sports production company will be returning for all men’s and women’s Euro Tours as well as adults, juniors, wheelchair users and seniors European Championship events for this year as well as 2025 and 2026.

GERMANY’S JOSHUA FILLER won his third consecutive DYNAMIC BILLARD Euro Tour title, and fifth in a row of events he has entered, as he coasted past Radoslaw Babica (Poland) by 9-3 to take the final event of the year, the Treviso Open. The German star’s winning run started in Slovenia last October and has taken in victories in Austria, twice again in Slovenia and now Italy. Despite having missed three events in the seven-tournament ranking cycle, his incredible run still sees him sit at

No.2 in the rankings, a situation that could well be remedied soon.

Super Sarac Takes First ET Trophy

SERBIA’S BOJANA SARAC claimed her first EPBF Women’s Euro Tour title as she dominated proceedings to defeat Oliwia Zalewska (Poland) by 7-1 at the Best Western Premier BHR Hotel in Treviso. The 22-year-old had previously been a beaten finalist twice but she delivered a near-faultless performance for a satisfying victory.

Down to the Last 16 in Italy

WE’RE DOWN TO the final 16 in Italy as day three of the 2023 DYNAMIC BILLARD Treviso Open completed with some terrific matches. After multiples rounds of play, Germany are the most represented nation left in the competition with six players followed by Poland with five and one each from Hungary, Bosnia Herzegovina, Finland, Ukraine and Czech Republic.

Day One Ends in Treviso

THE FINAL STOP of the 2023 DYNAMIC BILLARD Euro Tour season got underway today at the Best Western Premier BHR Hotel in Treviso as Round 1 matches took place. With approximately 200 players contending this week and the popular venue holding less tables than most tour stops, the Treviso Open is played over four days instead of the regular three, giving it a more relaxed feel.

NORWAY, REPRESENTED BY Mikael Oegaard and Emil Andre Gangflot, came from behind to defeat the Netherlands 9-7 in an exciting conclusion to the 2023 Longoni 9 Ball League in Treviso. The Dutch duo of Marc Bijsterbosch and Jan Rempe lead in the middle stages but saw their two-rack advantage evaporate as they found themselves on the wrong end of a five-rack burst from the Norwegians.

Bak, Helvik and Pereira Take Final 9-Ball Golds

THE 2023 DYNAMIC Billard European Seniors Championships wrapped up this afternoon in Lasko, Slovenia as the destination of the final medals was determined. Tomasz Bak of Poland claimed his first ever EC Seniors gold as he defeated Harald Stolka (Germany) in a gripping match while Manuel Pereira of Portugal cemented his position as top dog in the 55-plus category, defeating nemesis Miroslav Kremenovic (SRB) to claim his second gold medal of the championships. In the ladies division, it was Ine Helvik who came through, defeating Ulrika Andersson (Sweden) to take her haul of gold medals to two.

YOUNG EUROPEAN STARS TAKE CLUTCH OF MEDALS

 

ONE GOLD, ONE silver and four bronze medals was the European haul from the WPA Predator World Junior Championships which completed today in Klagenfurt, Austria. The EPBF squad for the championships was selected on the basis of performances at the European Junior Championships which took place Podčetrtek, Slovenia back in July.

Diaz Pizarro, Steinlage and Schernthaner Rule the 8-Ball

THERE WERE THREE more finals contested this afternoon at the Dynamic Billard European Seniors Championships as the 8-ball division played out. In the 45-plus category, Spain’s Francisco Diaz Pizarro made light work of it, to take his gold medal tally to two, while the women’s champion, Christine Steinlage (Germany) also added to her medal haul.

The 55-plus division was dominated by Austria’s Johan Schernthaner who also became a multiple medallist.

Portugal and Germany Take Team Golds

THE TWO TEAM gold medals were determined on Friday evening at the Dynamic Billard European Seniors Championships and it was Portugal who took the glory in the men’s division and the German ladies who triumphed. It was a late finish as the women’s final went to a deciding play-off but there was plenty of the drama that the team events always bring.

14.1 GOLDS FOR DIAZ-PIZARRO & KREMENOVIC

THE OPENING DISCIPLINE at the EPBF European Seniors Championships concluded today as the medals were decided in the 14.1 45-plus and 55-plus divisions. From 91 starters, it was Spain’s Francisco Diaz-Pizarro who prevailed in the younger category, while the over 55s were dominated by Serbian Miroslav Kremenovic, who was returning the European Championship action after a five-year absence.

Seniors Get Underway in Lasko

THE ANNUAL EPBF European Seniors Championships get underway today in Lasko, as the first of 13 separate tournaments breaks off in the picturesque Slovenian spa town. Europe’s best senior players can look forward to an eight-day bonanza encompassing three categories – men’s and women’s plus-45 and men’s plus-55. The Official Event Host is the Thermana Lasko Hotel which is a few minutes’ walk from the event hall.

Hung Triumphs on Euro Tour Debut

HUNG MENG-HSIA has won the EPBF Lasko Open, her first ever visit to the Euro Tour, as she defeated Pia Filler 7-1in a match she controlled throughout. Hung’s break shot was a critical difference as she delivered it with such high-quality time and again to control the table. Filler was dogged with some misfortune but it was the Australian who was superior in every aspect of the game.

JOSHUA FILLER IS the Dynamic Billard Lasko Open champion as he hammered Oliver Szolnoki 9-1 to claim his fourth Euro Tour win in four starts as well as seventh career ET title. The 26-year-old German star had been feeling decidedly under the weather throughout the tournament but his unrelenting pursuit of victory and sublime shot-making skills were no match for the out-of-sorts Hungarian.

JOLIEN SCHUURMAN, PLAYING in only her second ladies Euro Tour event was victorious in Podčetrtek, Slovenia as she took down the EPBF Terme Olimia Open, defeating Slovenia’s Ana Gradisnik 7-5 in the final. The Dutch girl had initially come to Slovenia to compete in the European Youth Championships last week but didn’t have the best of times, trying to build on 2022’s multiple gold medal success.

THE DYNAMIC BILLARD Euro Tour reconvenes this weekend in Podčetrtek, Slovenia for the Terme Olimia Open. It is the fourth event from six on the 2023 Euro Tour roster and approximately 150 players will be in attendance to try their luck. It’s a new venue for the Tour, having been down the road in Lasko in previous years. Play gets underway this Saturday 29th and concludes on Monday 31st July.

THE 2023 DYNAMIC Billard European Youth Pool Championships concluded this afternoon in Podčetrtek, Slovenia as the destination of the two team gold medals was determined. In the end it was the Netherlands who took the U19 title and Germany who claimed the U17 crown in two matches that were exciting throughout.

THE FINAL DISCIPLINE of the 2023 Dynamic Billard European Youth Pool Championships was played out this afternoon in Podčetrtek, Slovenia as the final gold medals went to Germany, twice, and Sweden in the 9 ball.

Dennis Laskowski finally claimed the top spot after winning two silvers, Felix Vogel added to his gold in the 8 ball and Linnea Hjalmarstrom also made herself a double gold-medallist.

8 BALL WAS the game and three more champions were crowned this evening in Podčetrtek, Slovenia at the 2023 Dynamic Billard European Youth Pool Championships. Yannick Pongers (NED) defended the title he won last year, while Germany’s Felix Vogel added to last year’s 10 ball gold and finally, Turkish Cypriot Alara Ghaffari got her hands on a gold medal after a valiant come-back win.

THERE WERE THREE more gold medals determined at the 2023 Dynamic Billard European Youth Pool Championships in Podčetrtek, Slovenia and Poland, Slovenia and Sweden proved to be the victorious nations. Dominik Jastrzab (POL), Maks Benko (SLO) and Linnea Hjalmarstrom (SWE) were the winners in an evening with plenty of drama that kept a good-sized crowd on the edges of their seats. All three will go forward to the World Youth Championships in Klagenfurt, Austria in October.

Severe flooding had caused power cuts in the region which meant there was no play for several hours yesterday.

Saturday, the penultimate day of the 2023 Dynamic Billard European Championships, saw the two team medals decided in what is often one of the more dramatic of the multiple events taking place at the championships. In the men’s event it was an always strong Polish team facing off against Norway who may not have been many people’s tip for a medal but nonetheless had done the business throughout the tournament.

Golds For Regli, Ivanovskaia and Brajkovic

THE 10 BALL division at the annual Dynamic Billard European Championships concluded today in Tampere, Finland and there were hard-won golds for Switzerland, Germany and a first-ever for Slovenia.

It was discipline No.2 in the none-day festival of pool and in the men’s division, Ronald Regli (Switzerland) defeated Germany’s Stefan Kasper

8-4 in a good quality match where little separated the two antagonists in open play but where a couple of dry break shots conspired to undo Kasper’s hopes.

Laaksonen and Vogelmann take opening golds

FINLAND’S KIM LAAKSONEN AND GERMANY’S TINA VOGELMANN are the straight pool champions at the Dynamic Billiards European Championships, as they both came through close run matches to claim gold in Tampere. Despite the varying races, both matches finished almost simultaneously as cheers rang through the arena and Laaksonen needed to compose himself for match ball.

Dynamic Billard Tampere Open Fortunski Takes the Glory in Tampere

MIESKO FORTUNSKI OF Poland, the highest ranked player coming into the tournament, justified the form lines as he took down the Dynamic Billard Tampere Open, beating the Netherland’s Marc Bijsterbosch 9-5 in the final match. For the 31 year-old from Lubin, it was his second Euro Tour title after winning in Italy seven years ago.

EPBF Tampere Open Women - Kibaroglu Claims Euro Tour Title No.2

EYLLUL KIBAROGLU TODAY claimed her second women’s Euro Tour title, beating Germany’s Veronika Ivanovskaia 7-6 in an exciting encounter at the Exhibition and Sports Centre in Tampere, Finland. Following her win at the Predator Petrich Open in Bulgaria last August and three semi-final spots since then, the Turkish girl has cemented her position at the top of the Euro Tour Women’s rankings. For Ivanovskaia, who won last time out in St Johan im Pongau, Austria, it was a missed opportunity but second place points with none to defend, will see her shoot up the rankings.

Dynamic Billard Tampere Open - Immonen Still on Track for Euro Tour Title

THERE ARE JUST 16 players left at the Dynamic Billard Tampere Open after a long day’s play at the local Exhibition and Sports Centre. The highest-ranked player going into the tournament was Poland’s Mieszko Fortunski and he is very much on track for a second Euro Tour crown. However, there are still plenty of quality players contesting and he will have to play his best game throughout tomorrow to prevail.
