The team competition at the European Heyball Championships, held at the Grand Hotel Kielce, has come to an end. Czech Republic claimed the gold medal in the men’s category, while Ukraine triumphed in the women’s competition.
In the men’s semi-finals, Czechia defeated Ukraine 3–1, while the match between Georgia and Croatia was much more evenly contested. With the overall score tied at 2–2, a Golden Rack decided who would advance to the final. Georgia proved stronger in the decisive rack, won the match 3–2 and secured a place in the gold-medal contest.
Czechia and Georgia then faced each other in the final. The Czech team made a strong start. Roman Hybler defeated David Avakian 3–0, while David Žalman beat Nodar Bakradze 3–2. Georgia responded through Emil Topchiev, who overcame Petr Urban 3–1. However, Czechia proved stronger in the final battle, completed a 3–1 overall victory and claimed the European team title.
The bronze medals in the men’s category went to Croatia and Ukraine.
In the women’s competition, the gold medal was decided in the direct match between Ukraine and Poland. The Ukrainian team came out on top in the decisive contest and took the highest place on the podium. Poland finished with the silver medal, while Romania placed third. Only one bronze medal was awarded in the women’s category.

Following the conclusion of the competition, an official medal ceremony was held. The medals were presented by Grzegorz Kędzierski, President of the Polish Billiards Association, and Gino de Router, Board Member of the European Pocket Billiard Federation.
The ceremony was held in a dignified and celebratory atmosphere. The national anthems of Czechia and Ukraine were played in honour of the winning teams, while the joy of the players provided a fitting conclusion to the European team competition.
