DAY TWO COMPLETES IN GANDIA

Predator Euro Tour Series

2025 Predator Spanish Open

DAY TWO COMPLETES IN GANDIA

5th December 2025

PLAY CONTINUED AT the 2025 Predator Spanish Open in Gandia and there was plenty of 10-ball action as both events whittled their respective fields down. In the open event, one side of the last 32 draw has been determined, with the remaining 16 players battling through the losers’ qualification round at 9.00 on Saturday morning. The Predator Women’s Open is at a similar stage with half of the last 16 through via the winner’s side, to joined by loser’s qualification winners at midday tomorrow.

Blasting his way through the winner’s side into the last 32 is Poland’s Dominic Jastrzab, a first-time Euro Tour winner last time out at the Predator Dutch Open. The 20-year-old enjoyed wins over young German Fabrizio Ingrasci, Sun Yi Hsuan (TPE), before squeezing past Greece’s George Antonakis in a final rack decider.

He said, “It was a hard match to play because at the beginning I was winning 5-1 and after that he started playing pretty well, maybe he ran out four racks in a row so it was tough to get through it. After all, he made a mistake at 7-7 and I get my chance and I took it. I’m winning matches and it’s always about that so I’m quite happy about it. Despite winning last time in Assen, for me it’s always the same goal - to win as much as I can so I hope I’m going to make it even further but we’re going to see.”

At the Predator Women’s Spanish Open eight players are through to the last 16, while there are two rounds of losers’ side qualification Saturday morning. Jasmin Ouschan, playing on the Euro Tour for the fourth time in 2025, has won two titles – in Italy in February and Estonia in April – and is on track for her third as she glided in the last 16. Wins over Pia Filler, Ana Gradisnik and Bernarda-Soledad Ayala saw her through.

‘We’ve been her for almost two weeks so I’d better find my game after so many matches. But it’s been a tough draw too, having Pia in the first round and Ana in the second so you’ve got to play your best right from the start. It definitely helps to get my focus and so far, I feel good. I can tell everybody is getting a bit tired because all the events have been so long so that’s why I do fitness to stay focused to rely on my body and to know I have the energy to go all the way.

Another Austrian player making inroads in Spain is Sandra Baumgartner who made it two wins from two, beating France’s Rose Deu Va to make the single-elimination final 16.

Commented Sandra, “The first match, I played very well, the last match was more solid, I’d say. I made some safety errors but she missed some balls and I cleared all the tables. If you go through the winners’ side you have some more time off and can relax a little bit. I’m not quite there yet; maybe the first match, yes but from the second match, I’ll have to improve a little bit if I’m to go to the final and win it. But my ‘A’ game can win here.”

Play continues on Saturday morning at 9.00 and streaming of Tables 1 and 2 for all Euro Tour and European Championships events can be found on YouTube, via the Pro Billiard TV channel - https://www.youtube.com/@ProBilliardTV
